Corporate Training in Second Life: Teamwork Tester Training Simulation

What does it test
The simulation tests teamwork skills, as well as team performance and compatibility

How Does It Work
As multiple research shows, teamwork skills do not depend on a particular task. They can be tested and trained using any group assignment.
In this simulation a group of people has to solve a puzzle consisting of nine cubes with fragments of six different images on the faces of each cube. After one of the trainees scrambles the puzzle, everybody is free to select any cube and rotate it around three axes using keyboard controls. Subjects cannot communicate with each other and decide beforehand which image they are going to put together. Therefore, in order to complete the task in a reasonable time the members of the group must watch what others are doing and adjust to each other's work. If each person works as an individual rather then a member of the team, putting together an image they like and disregarding the others, the task would never be completed.
At the end of the session you receive objectively measured results of the team performance, along with a variety of individual and team metrics. The results are saved in a database and are accessible via the web for review, analysis and comparison of different teams.

What You Will Accomplish By Using Cube Puzzle
By using Cube Puzzle you can:

  • Assess performance of a team and individual members
  • Train members of the team to better work together
  • Find the optimal composition of the team
  • Mix and match people to see what combination produces the best team performance
  • Assess individual characteristics of the team members, such as:
    • speed
    • effectiveness
    • participation in the task
    • ability to finish assigned part of the work
    • helping others
    • and more
